Description:
This budget GPS device reminds us of how important entry-level models seem to be for Garmin, with this one apparently offering simple navigation that does not cost an arm and a leg. The nuvi 56LM boasts a couple modern navigation capabilities found in higher-end models, such as the School Zone Warnings, and the Up Ahead feature which lets you view nearby upcoming services as you drive. The rest, however is noticeably basic, particularly the 5-inch TFT screen (made more ordinary by its 480 x 272 pixels resolution) and the absence of free lifetime traffic updates, though we realize that is probably too much to ask for the price.
Also known as Garmin 56LM.
