Description:
Living up to its name, the Toughpad FZ-M1 is MIL-STD-810G-certified, which means that it can take more punishments from tough business environments than a regular tablet. Specifically, Panasonic claims that it can survive drops from up to five feet high and is protected against shocks, vibrations, pressure, humidity and extreme temperatures, as tested against U.S. military standards for ruggedness. Powered by a dual-core Intel Core i5 processor and running Windows 8.1 (with a downgrade option to Windows 7), this tablet should be able to run legacy Windows desktop applications, while the included touchscreen stylus should make it easier to poke at apps on a rather small (7-inch) screen. But, of course, ruggedness has its price, and the FZ-M1 comes with a "business" price tag which can quickly escalate with customizable options such as a bigger battery, extra storage, and additional ports.
